Peace and Happiness

About the rainforth retreat center

The Rainforth Retreat Center, located just outside of Omaha, was built in 2014 at Riverside Lakes, which consists of two lakes along the Elkhorn River.

It is an ecumenical retreat center nestled amidst lakes, river and trees. This is a place of peaceful seclusion for rest, contemplation and renewal. Those who desire time away from their busy lives are welcomed with warm hospitality and encouraged to focus on their spiritual journey.

While spending time at the center guests may want to explore issues in their life and try to find God in the midst of them. Sometimes people come to retreats when there are major changes in life that need discernment. Retreats are for those who have a desire to grow spiritually as they become more authentic. And most of all to grow closer to God so that peace can be experienced in the midst of a chaotic world. Our constant prayer is that this place encourages one to be God’s hands and feet and make a difference in the world.

“Do you wish to know God? Learn first to know yourself. “This quote is from Evagrius Ponticus, an early Christian Monk. (345-399 AD)

Judith’s home comes with amenities that dreams are made of. The house sits on a private lake. There are numerous kayaks, a paddle board, and other great ways to enjoy the water. We took full advantage, and my father-in-law had a wonderful time fishing on the lake as well catching several bass. The inside of the house is more of the same - Judith welcomes you with open arms and gives you a wonderful tour. You have access to a wonderful steam shower, an infrared sauna, and two very comfortable beds. This place was great for some wonderful, and much needed RNR. I definitely recommend giving this place a shot - you will not regret it. PS: Judith baked us a fresh loaf of bread for our arrival. Does not get much better than that.

My three friends and I stayed at Judith’s lake house for our annual girl’s trip and we had such an amazing time! Judith was such a gracious host and had really thought of everything to make us feel comfortable and welcome. Her home is pristine and beautiful with so many great amenities. I especially loved the steam shower after a day out on the beach! The outdoor area is great too. We spent a lot of time on the beach, on the big mat in the lake, and sitting out by the firepit at night. We can’t wait to go back!

Judith’s house was amazing! It’s new, clean, has all of the amenities one could need and more and has a beautiful back yard/lake to relax and have fun. There was access to kayaks, a paddle board and plenty of sand/water toys. We needed a later check out time so my daughter could take a nap in a cool and quiet place and Judith was very accommodating. She was very easy to contact and made us feel very welcomed in her home. We had our own space and loved the quiet and relaxing neighborhood and we were still close to restaurants/shops. We will definitely stay again if we’re in the area! You will love staying here!!!

If you are looking for a place to relax and leave the stress of day to day life behind, this is the place. My son and I had a great time fishing and using the paddle boat. The house and yard were beautiful and offered everything you could want. Judith was great and very helpful. We absolutely enjoyed our stay. It’s a must stay.
